Hi From Meribel!

April 3rd, 2009 by snowbadger in Uncategorized · 3 Comments

Just a wee note to say that we’re all having a great time in Meribel!!  Very sunny, with some good training conditions..and the trainees are getting very good at their press-ups!!

Hope the skiing up Cairngorm is just as good.  We witnessed Alain Baxter’s retirement run yesterday. He raced in his kilt, stopped for a dram at coaches corner and then skied through a ski ‘guard of honour’.

Nice site folks!!!! makes me think I should get mine looking a bit cooler!! Good to catch up on a bit of chat from home too.

Good luck to all the bairns this weekend in the bairns bucket, in my opinion its the best named race in the world!!!

I’m in Slovenia this week to race their national champs so hopefully I can put some storming runs down, then I’ll hopefully catch up with some of you at the British champs in Meribel.

Cheers. Ski fast!!!

March 20th, 2009 by snowbadger in Uncategorized · 3 Comments

Hi Everyone,
Just spoken to the hotel..don’t worry Snow Badgers will not be allowed in so no danger of the buffet being munched before we arrive.
The hotel are expecting us between 5.00 & 5.30 on Sunday.Just go in & through to the function suite , where you pay at the door.
Should be a good night :) There are about 75 of us going!
See you there.

Update for the Weekend…from Donald

March 19th, 2009 by snowbadger in Uncategorized · No Comments

Yo gang

Cant believe its the last weekend of training; weather looks nice for sat and a tad windy for sunday. The hill has lost a bit of snow since last wkend, but m1 poma should still be alive. Cas has shiney new wire on it, goes 3x as fast now Im told!!!

Saturday
Barins Bucket will be on, probably the 105 piste, so bairns get skis waxed (warm wax – yellow) for spring snow. It should be a good fun day. Other groups will be training as normal. Bring those funky shades its gonna be sunny!

Sunday
Timed training runs on the 105 for the older groups. This will prob be SL so come prepared. Good practice for those heading to Meribel. This will be the last day of training so it will be fun fun fun for all the groups, the forecast is a little windier but after this season we can handle it no probs.

Keep it real and see you all at the weekend. All the coaches are looking forward to the buffet night….I hope the snowbadger doesnt sniff it out! maybe it will appear and munch all the fodder??!!
